$ echo /etc/hosts | lpr -P laser; /usr/sbin/lpc status
laser:
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
1 entry in spool area
no daemon present <-------- Problem??
$ /usr/sbin/lpc status
laser:
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
no entries
no daemon present
half a second later I get the error message in my inbox.
I don't quite understand what this 'no daemon present' bit means, since
$ /etc/rc.d/init.d/lpd status
lpd (pid 1113) is running...
would suggest to me that the daemon is there.
