RE: Linuxcare

I've read the articles and wasn't really concerned.

It just seems to me to record the expected learning by techos about
the suit mentality and supports the claims that Linuxcare didn't
really recruit that well anyway.

Lets face it, Linuxcare would have lost a lot of street cred if they
had done anything but open source for their knowledge base. It just
shows that the suits just didn't understand the market they were in.

My only question was did the -25% staff hit Oz?
If it didn't, it means nothing because Linuxcare probably over
recruited in USA at the start. Then when they looked at providing 24
hours support, there is a very good argument for having three offices
around the world providing this at standard rates, rather than at
overtime rates from one location, so they cut the surplus when they
ditched the heavies = one disruption.

So, all in all, it still looks healthy for Linuxcare, they are
learning and responding to issues. Of course, they still have to deal
with the same issues as anyone in the linux market.

Different picture if Oz was slashed.
