Good idea - getting at the wall from underneath the
floor is a good compromise if you are doing it after
the event...
Instead of a draw-cord, etc. have a word to your
plumber / sparky and get some PVC pipe, about 2cm
diameter is usually enough - run this from the roof,
through the noggins, to where the wall plates will be.
This does require a bit of planning, but if you know
where your power points are, placing them one stud away
from the power points is usually good enough.
This way you don't have a time limit on when you lay
the cable, and can always lay more at a later date.
A friend did this for phone, data and video and the
sparky working on the house thought it was such a great
idea, he actually helped lay the pipes.
