Can't help you with Windows drivers sorry, but are you aware that Lucent
have released a Linux driver for their winmodems? Binary only, available
from <http://www.linmodems.org>. Works with kernels 2.2.12-2.2.14 OK,
any kernel above this the ppp module has changed and things break, but
you can get it to work by loading the ppp module from 2.2.14 - to avoid
error messages you can just load the 2.2.14 ppp.o into a text editor and
change the kernel version from 2.2.14 to 2.2.16 or whatever kernel
you're using. Ugly hack, but it works.
