I have been running reiserfs in the mail server here at work without a
crash since I installed it in March. I have people with 200MB, 20,000
message Maildirs and the IMAP probes continue to be nice and fast. Try
that on a normal filesystem and mboxes.
Reiserfs has real skill with small files.... I think there are some
stats on the homepage...
