hi,
this may help you. look on the internet for a boot loader called GAG. i
know, funny name. however it loads into your MBR. then it will load any
operating system from whatever disk you want. so you could leave your
partitions as is and let GAG do the booting. is very user friendly and
easy to configure. just don't know the URL at the moment.
