It wasn't personal sunshine. I just don't believe in dictation by the
majority, which is the total argument you invoked.
To paraphrase someone's current sig "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb
voting on lunch" I.E. I don't give a F^&K about the majority.
Netscape has some bloody awful faults, font handling being one of them,
and I have no interest in defending it and I wasn't. It is a simple fact
that if you use it, you will have trouble with many WWW pages.
Some of this trouble is caused by WWW pages that are all about
image/appearance. I would go so far to say that 90% of business WWW
pages have actually no business rational whatsoever and display no
business sense. They are designed and built by people with no business
commonsense who value image over function and fail to follow basic
design rules.
As well, an app doesn't have to cater for the majority to be good. It
just has to be good at something and people will use it. I use netscape
because it does infolder sorting quite nicely.
Actually Netscape has no troubles on text only sites.
Of course my opinion is biased, I've been using computers for 16 years
and I know that GUI, efficency and productive do not belong in the same
sentence.
