Note: I've only tried this under Window Maker - I don't know if it's a
feature of Xfree, or WM.
I've wondered if there was a way to use the keyboard as a mouse for
years! So easy: hold down Shift, tap Num Lock, and release Shift.
Ditto to turn it off.
(A good example of how cool features will not be found by 99% of users
if there is no visible clue to their existence in the UI - i.e. if you
simply have to find them by reading about them!)
Which makes me wonder - does anyone know of a GUI configuration tool
for X, for all the wonderful things you can do in your .Xresources or
..Xdefaults file?

I saved this one as I always seemed to forget it.

If using Xfree, press Shift, hit Num Lock, release Shift. The machine
should beep. Now the Num Pad emulates a mouse. Use Shift and Num Lock again
to end mouse emulation. You can use it whenever you want, even if the mouse
still works.
12346789 are directions, 5 is click (or speed up if already pressing a
direction), /*- select mouse123, 0 click and hold current button, . release
button, + double click.
More or less that is the trick. Posted by Telsa some weeks ago, taken from
Window Maker readme file, IIRC.
