I might just add that while your mileage may vary, trying to install oms
on something earlier than RH6.2 is one of those exercises that nearly
makes you want to weep (and NEARLY long for the install features of
another operating system). The libraries oms uses are the latest and
greatest (which RH 6.0 for example doesn't have) and the RPMS to upgrade
them (the ones I got from RedHat directly) have some flaws - in one
example the glib-config and gtk-config files don't get overwritten when
upgrading the RPM and virtually everything you try to install on top of
these read those files to see which version is installed. I spent
several (at least) hours compiling code after giving up on the RPMs but
then gave up completely when oms reported yet another failed dependency.
I'd suggest RH7.0 or other recent distro before tackling oms.
