Proper British ale isn't (shouldn't be) served warm. Just cool, not cold -
54-57F being the recommended range. Bring it down to near freezing and you'll
kill off all the flavour (which, at risk of starting WWIII, is advantageous to
the likes of Carlton - you're not going to notice you've been served a
tasteless, adjunct-filled concoction indistinguishable from all the others).
