Can you back it up to another machine via ethernet?  You can then
use a removeable hard drive on that other machine to take the
data off-site.

There are also USB hard drive enclosures, so you can stick a hard
drive into a little box which hooks up to the PC via USB.  As
you've guessed though, the speed is quite lacking :).

Of course, both these options are assuming that it's okay to back
up to a hard disk.
