Not sure about that one, but I left my Apacer Mega-Steno (multi-card reader: http://www.apacer.com/apacer_english/product_html/mega_steno11.asp) plugged in to my laptop which runs SuSe 8.1, and it automatically popped up shortcuts to all the usb device's drives.
