Hi All, (especially Tony, Jamie and Mary who have posted on this subject)

I followed Greeno's instructions to the letter and things were uninstalled and reinstalled, I was also prompted for 3 of the debian installation CD's.

Unfortunately, I only get as far as "apt-get install x-window-system and I recieve the following dependency messages.

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
x-window-system: Depends: x-window-system-core but it is not going to be installed
Depends: lbxproxy but it is not going to be installed
Depends: proxymngr but it is not going to be installed
Depends: twm but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xdm but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xfwp but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xnest but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xterm but it is not going to be installed
E: Sorry, broken packages

I have tried -f but still get the same error.

I'm far from giving up on this. I wish to thank everyone for their help and I hope I don't push their patience too far.

Regards

Mick
