Hi Simon, You might want to get a demo of a KVM before you buy one. My experience so far is the video is pretty low resolution and sometimes ghosty compared to either remote X or other protocols. KVMs are really essential when you have racks of Windows servers that act up and maybe need a console if you are loading CDs or something. I much prefer using a desktop Linux box to remotely access all the other servers most of the time. The KVM just saves me from running between my office and the computer room when accessing the physical hardware. I wouldn't want to work on it all day.
