Another data point, in contrast: I am a current fedora/rhes user, long-time redhat user (since redhat5 or so) who started with sls then debian WAY back. I've dabbled with ubuntu, suse, mandrake. I'm not at all bothered by the occasional debian / ubuntu fan-ism in slug. It's pretty much an inevitable part of the territory, an as long as it's not overbearing, (it hasn't been as far as I'm concerned) it doesn't bother me. People should be a little less thin-skinned.
