You should also check out bacula http://www.bacula.org which includes
DVD backup in the beta version. It is a bit complex to set up as it
provides full enterprise-level backup. The manual is very extensive,
with lots of examples and there is an active mailing list. I have not
tried the dvd backup but I use the backup to hdd and tape and both work
very well.
