I think you're just better off buying any notebook that you like & just
installing Linux on it. It's tough to find Linux preloaded on new notebooks in
Singapore (apart from the eeePC, which has now moved to Windows).

As usual, do check the Hardware Compatibility Lists for the specific notebook
that you are planning to purchase, against the Linux Distro of your choice.

I installed Ubuntu on a Lenovo S10 and - 'I'm loving it'!

Then just keep the Windows recovery DVD or create a restore DVD from the
preinstalled Windows partition - just in case you decide to sell off the
notebook in future - Windows might come in handy then.

Hope that helps.

I've been travelling the entire last few months, and was surprised to
see Linux having a really big footprint in the South Asian market. I
saw a number of pamphlets with lines like:

"Linux Ubuntu 8.10"

And those were not ads for some local brand or patched-up systems, but
rather that of Dell.

I think vendors themselves actually advise distributors on this,
because Linux would be most needed in developing countries where
piracy is rampant. In a country like ours, where more people can and
will buy original, it doesn't make sense to them to offer Linux as
part of a product, since they don't know what Free Software means
other than "free".
