It really makes no difference whether you use A or B (since in both cases the same pins are paired - only the color codes are different) as long as you use the same sequence at both ends of a cable run.
I suppose it really does make sense to use B all the time, that way there is no question if you get in the middle of a run. -- Jerry B.
