Chris,

I currently use a bandwidth arbitrator. It works really well, and it helps utilize all of the bandwidth. I installed it myself so the cost was nothing but they can install it for you if you didn't want to spend the time figuring it all out. It is actually quite nice. I have a YDI BCU as well but I am using this Arbitrator instead. Seems to make customers happy when they have full bandwidth when it is available. Does it on ports and app type. http://www.bandwidtharbitrator.com

Hope that helps. TIm

What keeps you from buying the software from Demarc Tech and installing it on your own box? You won't have to pay YDI for the hardware, which should save you some cash.

SimpleTrap, YDI BCU ?

I'm in such a mix up I had planned to buy the new simpletrap's when they came out to redo me entire network and be able to throttle my clients to eliminate some hidden node problems and general misuse of there internet and packetloss but as it seems for whatever reason the simpletrap's look like there running a little behind but I suppose that's because of some probs on the current system they are trying to work out. So I was looking at the YDI BCU and they say you can install one at your noc set up some general rules and it will greatly help on an open system or any system for that matter especially with the hidden node problem (install at noc fix problems with hidden note remotely herm? Lol) but it looked interesting because of the autodiscovery of mac addresses but the problem is the bcu is 3grand and its kinda a large investiment with money being tight lately im not so sure of if it's the right choice. I mean the usability of it is great it looks like and I know ydi is rock solid. But I would really rather have the Simpletrap's themselves doing the management what do I do! Get the BCU or wait it out for simpletrap's to come out sometime in the future. I can't afford a financial mistake at this point L
