Alex, This does occur.... Same subnet, gateway set, and primary port to wireless.... I see this sometimes on new installs (I do preconfigure the AB before going to the customer), then sometime later, hours, days it will begin to respond to a ping. Also at the time it does not respond to a ping, arp -a will display the MAC of the AB. I brought this to your attention 3-4 months ago. My AP is an Orinoco AP1000. It is not a configuration issue as I have others on the same AP that do respond correctly and I set each AB the same, other than the static IP.

There is no reason you can login but can't ping unless it is different subnet and the gateway setting is leave as 0.0.0.0, it is possible like this that you can login first before ping is ok.
