For our current product, we will resolve whatever issues and make it more reliable. At the moment, there is no plan for adding new features on it. But we will consider if there is possibility of doing so on current product while we are doing research & designing for Nexus.

Seeni are there any chances of adding vlan tagging or basic port blocking on the current APPO's ( I mean they are PRO units :) and the nexus are so far off ) Would really appreciate a straight answer thanks.

AirPoint PRO does support VLAN tagging thru PtP mode, by allowing "non
IP
traffic" option in the Advanced TAB. Before you test point to point
wireless bridge mode, please make sure that Access point - CB mode
combination works first and then switch into the wireless bridge mode.
In point to point mode, please configure the PRIMARY PORT
correctly and it enables to reach the default gateway of the
network.
To illustrate an example,
Router/PC1 ----Switch 1 ------AP1(ptp)---------AP2(ptp) -------Switch
2-----PC2

In the above setup, the AP1 primary port will be set to Ethernet and AP2
is set to Wireless, the direction is based on where the router is. Also
ensure the configuration port is set to Ethernet & Wireless for both
units.
Please test using latest simplemonitor 1.5 with firmware 1.4j.6.

Hi all,

I'm new to this list and couldn't find an archive to browse, so please
forgive me if what I bring up has already been discussed to death. I
just have a very simple question that doesn't seem to be answered by the
documentation, namely whether or not you can transmit VLAN
(802.1q)-tagged
frames over a link consisting of two airPoint PRO modules in wireless
bridge mode.

Hints appreciated.
