I think that was the jist of the question.  The APPO's have falt panel 
built in with no second antennae jack for omni, so you end up with a 
repater that has a directional pointing back at the original AP (thus 
really not extending the coverage).

Only place this may be useful is if you are trying to repeat back under a 
tree canopy...
