I think he is stating that Novell outperforms Windows, which is pretty ambigious since we all know Windows by default has way to many services/daemons(opps, windows, apps) running that need to be shut-off to DRAMATICALLY improve performance of the server. Novell does not (you must enable them)... so out of box, yes Novell beats Windows.. Tweaked.. gets better, but who knows..
Real point is.. TCP/IP is better Protocol than IPX.. the OS that runs it is what was tested. -----Original Message----- From: Eje Gustafsson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sam <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sun, 13 Jul 2003 00:21:12 -0500 Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Here I come from ETSI land > I would like to know WHAT Windows platform that test was perfomed > on because even novel is moving from IPX to TCP because TCP gets > better performance and you don't lose lot of your network to wasted > chitchatter. > > / Eje > > Saturday, July 12, 2003, 9:42:58 PM, you wrote: > > S> On Sat, 12 Jul 2003, Shawn Mitchell wrote: > >> Cisco has it right.. heck, even Sony has it right...
