Thanks for the tips everyone!! I used a unit here with a YAGI antenna and was able to associate and log into my repeater. All of my clients are still associated with the repeater, but none with the headend. Under the "site survey" tab, I chose the "choose from available AP's", and I am able to SEE (hear) the head-end aPPo transmitting. But...it still is NOT receiving a single thing.
I am just about to replace the antenna and pigtail. I just got one in the mail, and I figure I will take this opportunity to install it. Once I cutoff my layers of waterproofing, I will connect my new antenna/pigtail and see if I am receiving anything. If not, it is a good thing that I still have one aPPo in stock. However...it is an old one. CRAPOLA!! That means I have to do some inline splicing. I hate doing that. It appears as though it is a failed unit due to it transmitting fine, but not receiving a thing (after all, it uses the same pigtail and antenna). That should mean that the connections are good. But I will soon confirm. Check any and every connection between the APPO and the antenna. Look for loose connectors, or water, or a dead amp, etc.. If all looks good it's probably the APPO. Importance: High My new head-end aPPo just went down. I have had it online for about 5 days now with no problems. I am logged into it and looking at the statistics, it is receiving ZERO packets. It is constantly transmitting beacons.but is receiving NOTHING. I have reset it.factory defaulted it.turned off WEP.turned off authentication.etc.etc.NADA..no received packets at all. I have about 22 units that are normally associated to this head-end (one of which is a repeater with 20 more clients behind it). Everyone is down!!! Has the unit gone to crap or am I forgetting to check something key?? Thanks all!
