I think it’s for flexibility. Each of us expects different things, so they gave us the options. If you have a lot of customers with low signal, you “may” improve things slightly by just setting it to a lower rate. I have mine set to 5.5 and lower, just because I only have one customer who could possibly get a better rate than that. I have found on one of my customers that if I set him to 1 or 2 mb, his connection is more solid. If I set his higher, he has to reset it periodically, or it takes longer to reassociate because it has to start at the highest rate before it discovers the best rate setting. Normally, you should set it for the higher rate with auto-fallback on.

OK stupid question of the day. In the app on the basic tab. Why would you not just have the rates at 11mbps with auto fall back rate checked? If you just want to limit the customer can you not at the airbridge to only 1 meg? I have my app's setup this way and wondered if there were any reason to check all the boxes and auto fallback.
