Nope, unit dosn't reboot... other than not passing traffic, unit works great. :D
And I had early access to the fw for the AP's... but I didn't have the latest version on the laptop that I had, so I re-downloaded it trying to fix it by reapplying the fw. But still didn't work. I'm making a two hour drive tomorrow morning and I'm going to try and get there to replace some more units before it get's too hot outside again. Two of these units (was three) have been up and working for almost a year on the same tower. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Marlon Schafer (509-982-2181) Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 20:03 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [smartBridges] About to the end of my rope... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shawn Mitchell" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "smartBridges" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 4:52 PM Subject: [smartBridges] About to the end of my rope... > Ok... here's a nice problem.. > > Problem 1) An airPoint Pro Outdoor... you can connect to it just fine off > of the wireless port.. Is it doing the reboot every 30 or 60 seconds thing? Might just be a bad unit. Also, the new beta firmware fix came out just days ago not weeks ago. Might try that. > > Problem 2) Another APPI... will not allow clients to connect to it. How long are the ethernet cables? If over 100' gotta have a 15vdc power supply. Check the cat 5 cable too. > > Problem 4) Lately the smartBridge equipment line has a very high > failure/problem rate... I'm starting to eval other equipment now. I'm > starting to feel really bad for recommending smartbridge equipment to other > people. Yeah, they've had some problems. So did Teletronics, Zcomax, Lucent and everyone else I've tried. Even the $1400 units did bad things sometimes. This gear is at the low end of the price range and MOSTLY works well. Take your pick, cheap, reliable, or quality. Pick any two. > > I got home last night at 3am after climbing towers all day in 95+ degree > weather... wouldn't have been bad if the humidity hadn't been 80%+ giving a > head index well over 100. > > So anyone have any idea's for AP's that stop passing traffic? I've got 4 of the airpoints out there. 2 indoor and 2 outdoor. All are working just fine. Did have to power cycle one of them today, don't know why. It was up there for MANY months so I don't know what happened to it. marlon > The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org
