Gloria,

1. Where is the Nema box at the top or bottom of the tower?
2. If at the bottom should be no need to climb thats what I do I put all
equipment at the base of the tower (If running amps) that way all you do is
run your LMR 400 up to the ant with the amp thats it. That way you can power
cycle a lot easier!

3. I assume you are not using any amps and have the APPOs as close as
possible to the ANT's if so then I understand.

4. Are these NEW APPO's with the old firmware or what firmware do they have?
I would make sure you have the latest firmware that might help.

5 As far as flakey I to agree there have been some weird things about the
units in the past few months other then the heat issues.

We just put up our first system about three weeks ago.  Four APPOs on the
water tower with Pac Wireless 90 degree sectors, channels separated by
enough distance as to not interfere.  Everything came up and worked
beautifully for almost two weeks.  Now we have had to climb the water tower
and reset one or more of the APPOs twice in the last week.  Last night one
APPO completely locked up, I couldn't access it from either side.  One was
receiving, but not transmitting, and the other two were transmitting and
receiving, but would not associate.  Climbed the water tower and re-powered
all of them and everything came back up and worked fine for a few hours.
Now one of them is receiving but not transmitting again.  I have tried the
"reset" from simpleMonitor, which I don't think does a damn thing and it
still doesn't work.  Now I have to call out one of my techs, on a Sunday,
and pay him overtime to go climb the water tower just to reset an APPO.
What is up with these damn flaky units?  We bought all smartBridges based on
recommendations from other WISPs, and they worked great for about two weeks,
now they seem to just flake out whenever they feel like it.  All of the
units are properly connected, grounded, and water proofed.  Our NEMA box
that contains our switch, UPS, and power supplies is air conditioned.  Does
anyone have any ideas?  Fortunately we only have one working customer (was
working until yesterday), but we have two more installs in progress that we
can't get to associate, and about a dozen people on a waiting list to be
installed and I am afraid to even try and hook them up until this system is
stable.  Is there anyway to reset these things without a tower climb?  Any
idea what would be making them lock up, stop transmitting, or stop
associating?
