Seeni,
My head-end aPPo has 26 direct clients, two of which are repeaters. The
repeaters consist of an aPindoor receiving from the head-end--back to
back with an aPPo (retransmitting on different channel and SSID). One
of the repeaters has 24 clients and the other has 3 clients.

That is a total of 53 clients all feeding through my head-end aPPo. I
have a T-1 wide open to all clients, and all clients do feel 1.5 Meg up
and back (most of the time).

With that said, are you saying that I have reached the maximum capacity
of my head-end aPPo??? Please be straight up here. I don't really care
about the "max 128", I want to know exactly when will my performance be
affected on the aPPo???

Also...you say below that the throughput is effectively cut in half with
the repeaters. This is only true if you use 1 radio in repeater mode.
Sorry if this is already stated elsewhere in the message.

Sully

When the APPO is in access point mode, it can handle about 50 clients
without any performance problem (Max. 128). If you have only 2 MB
bandwidth and then you want to add 3 more repeaters means the effective
throughput will cut in half once for each hop away from the parent
Access Point.

Subject: [smartBridges] Bridging Question

I plan to have a central APPO where my 2Mb bandwidth comes in - I will
then have say 3 APPO's acting as repeaters to extend the range

I have been told that an APPO can handle about 50 clients

My Question is - in my setup will I be able to handle 3 x 50 clients or
is the central APPO going to limit me to a max 50 clients in total?

Thanks

Rob
