I believe that open means that anyone with WEP enabled (security required) will not connect and everyone else will (no security ever). Shared means that WEP and nonWEP clients can connect but only WEP clients will have a secured connection. And WEP only will only allow WEP enabled clients to connect. Authentication is separate. Please help a lost soul!!!
