Try this process. 1. copy the file C:\Program Files\smartBridges\airPoint-PRO\ 802.11 APP (Ver. 1.4j.8).rom or what ever version you have to c:\program files\smartbridges\ directory. 2. rename the copy to "Wireless Bridge (Ver. 0.01.07).rom" 3. Using FWUpgrade.exe in the airBridge directory, manually enter the IP address of the radio. 4. Select the copied and renamed file in the smartBridges directory as the image to upload 5. Upload and cross your fingers You may not be able to search for the radio depending on the revision of FWUpgrade.exe you have, that is why you must enter the IP manually. The FWUpgrade.exe utility checks the name of the file before it uploads it to the radio. New versions of the AP FW also seem to check the contents of the upload before actually committing it to memory. So if you try uploading the AP FW to an AB you will have to downgrade to older 1.43 FW to revert it back to an AB. Also, only the oldest versions of simpleMonitor will let you manage the Frankenstein radio so you will need to use a custom SNMP script to manage it. If this does not work for you let me know, I have other methods. BTW if you intentionally make a Frankenstien AP from an AB, you will void any warranty you have as well as possibly create an expensive paper weight. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rudolph Worrell Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2003 3:02 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Airpoint gone mad and turned into AB the utility says it cannot find type and to check my password. Please choose the correct image to install. How can I turn it back? Help! I have tried using Simple Deploy again but it tells me that it was the wrong device. Hmmmm! If I can do this then I can change Airbridges to Airpoints and Airpoints to Airpoint Pros. Interesting! Well for now I just need to get my AP back so Help please!
