That sounds like the kind of thing that definitely shouldn't be happening, and bug reports, especially if accompanies by diagnostics would help get it fixed for you and other folk. Understood if you've moved beyond this, but if you'd be prepared to try again and feed back your experiences in a more formal manner, that would be very useful.
