I was a intrigued by this concept so I gave it a try and ended up with a working setup for an already installed system.
The quick summary for a typical Windows 2012 R2 installation is: bcdedit /ems on bcdedit /emssettings EMSPORT:1 EMSBAUDRATE:115200 Reboot and fire up the console. I posted some additional details here: http://www.edplese.com/blog/2015/07/23/windows-text-console-on-smartos/ I didn't try to get this to work with the installation itself but this might give you some ideas on how to get that to work. - Ed Plese On Thu, Jul 23, 2015 at 5:48 PM, G B via smartos-discuss < [email protected]> wrote: > Using OpenBSD in KVM I can use COM0 to use the server console, but is > there a way to change this on Windows so the installation and everyday use > for the Windows KVM can use the server console instead of having to use VNC? > *smartos-discuss* | Archives > <https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now> > <https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/24144918-dcb0f0f5> | > Modify > <https://www.listbox.com/member/?&> > Your Subscription <http://www.listbox.com> > ------------------------------------------- smartos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/25769125-55cfbc00 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=25769125&id_secret=25769125-7688e9fb Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
