4440 may turn out to be a duplicate of 4331.
Can you confirm that you are using NFS v3 and 'sec=sys' authentication?
I just tried:
# mount.nfs -v -o nfsvers=3,sec=sys atlantis:/export/TV /mnt
NFS access failed for server 192.168.42.2: error 7 (RPC: Authentication
error)
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting (null)
On a KVM from the latest Ubuntu certified image:
# mount.nfs -v -o nfsvers=3,sec=sys atlantis:/export/TV /mnt
mount.nfs: timeout set for Mon Aug 17 20:18:16 2015
mount.nfs: trying text-based options 'nfsvers=3,sec=sys,addr=192.168.42.2'
mount.nfs: prog 100003, trying vers=3, prot=6
mount.nfs: trying 192.168.42.2 prog 100003 vers 3 prot TCP port 2049
mount.nfs: prog 100005, trying vers=3, prot=17
mount.nfs: trying 192.168.42.2 prog 100005 vers 3 prot UDP port 52354
