I would like to point out that the suggested systems might not be a good choice to use at the moment, all of them run on SuperMicro X9* boards who are affected by this: https://github.com/joyent/smartos-live/issues/336 <https://github.com/joyent/smartos-live/issues/336> which in the bottom line means newer SmartOS (after ~201405) have have serious issues[1] when booed per USB (not sure about PXE, but DVD is not affected) unless some bios setting is turned off.
[1] As in random stuff failing because the parts of the ramdisk get overwritten mid run. which is close to impossible to track down unless you know about it == a support nightmare. --- Cheers, Heinz Nikolaus Gies [email protected] > On Nov 24, 2014, at 15:48, Keith Wesolowski via smartos-discuss > <[email protected]> wrote: > > On Mon, Nov 24, 2014 at 05:49:19PM +0700, Kien Nguyen Duy via smartos-discuss > wrote: > >> I loved smartos, the way it run, the way it work.
