Thanks for the information. This is the correct way for packages that
rely on FSO. But the game in question is rather general, and could for
example also run on my Thinkpad. Thus I’m wondering if there isn’t a
general solution to the problem „Hey System, I’m here, so please don’t
lock the screen while I’m running, whoever I am“.

Probably the xdg-screensave program (manpage at
http://portland.freedesktop.org/xdg-utils-1.0/xdg-screensaver.html) is
the right interface for general programs such as games, and it should be
extended to detect a running frameworkd and do the steps you mention.
