Hi there! I cc:ed the pkg-fso-maint@ mailing list as well, but please continue the discussion on the smartphones-userland@ one (R-T and M-F-T set).
I just uploaded a new 2.6.29 Debian kernel package, based on the latest Git checkout, which contains the following fixes discussed recently: - (6fbbacd00b2e6e09583b0f88aed39a7a6cfb6c81) the headset button http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openmoko.kernel/9913 - (d7ac922b016626921887e5a1ee42cefce1d0d607) GTA02 battery http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openmoko.kernel/9926 This kernel should be fully functional: please report any problem after having checked if they are present with the very same kernel checkout compiled by Openmoko, which you can find at http://pkg-fso.alioth.debian.org/tmp/kernel/ I removed the 2.6.24 kernel from the pkg-fso repository, since it is long deprecated upstream (both Openmoko and Linux) and anyway there is no manpower to keep supporting it. The following steps in order of importance (but not necessarily in order of implementation): 1) merge upstream GTA02 .config into the Debian one 2) build a GTA01 package 3) start hunting GTA01/GTA02 differences (needed and not) 4) create a new modules-* binary package containing all extra (i.e. not GTA*-specific) drivers. This will reduce the linux-image-* package size, obviously thinking about future installation on NAND... 5) build any driver not strictly needed to boot as module (e.g. battery) 6) syncing packaging with the official Debian kernels. This is a longstanding aim, which will also mean finding a "proper" name http://bugs.debian.org/503292 As usual, any help would be appreciated :-) Thx, bye, Gismo / Luca
