Interactively would be OK, I think, and I expect we'll do that at some
point. Chose not to do so for scripted invocations of svccfg earlier

Sure... but isn't a script that sets a value that's not allowed by the
template broken? Breaking broken scripts doesn't bother me at all...

Yes, there are many such enhancements that are being considered.
