I finally found out what was wrong! Although, I have proceeded with
all necessary installation steps for using SMSLib; the problem was
that the JRE defined in JAVA_HOME env variable was not the one used
from Eclipse as a JVM (although the correct one was used for the
project code compliation). Sorry for troubling you for such a silly
error... :)

I have another issue with receiving Message Delivery Reports.. Do you
think it's a better idea to continue by opening a new issue or
conitnue on this one?
