solving appropriate problems in relation to the skills and knowledge which they 
possess. 
 Although there are many different types of problems, for the purpose of the 
key skills unit three categories of problems are identified: 
 Clarify the problem and identify some possible ways tosolveit
 Plan and try out at least one way to solve theproblem 
 Check if the problem has been solved; review the results and the approachtaken
   
   􀂾 Diagnostic – Requiring analysis to come to conclusions: e.g. 
equipment failure, improving systems  
  
   􀂾 Design – Dependent on synthesis to create products or processes: e.g. 
making items, developing systems and procedures  
  
   􀂾 Contingency – Involving resource planning and cooperation with 
others: e.g. planning and running events  




 These categories can be helpful in defining the problem accurately, which is a 
vital part on the problem solving process. If the problem is unclear at the 
outset, how can the student check if it has been solved? 
 The Problem Solving specifications identify skills, knowledge, attitudes and 
qualities which students need to develop as part of the learning process: 
   
   􀂾 Process skills – e.g. planning, doing, checking, reviewing and 
reflecting  
  
   􀂾 Interpersonal skills – e.g. listening, asserting your point of view, 
consulting  
  
   􀂾 Personal qualities – e.g. reliability, taking the initiative, 
persistence, confidence  




 Although the focus of assessment of Part B, through the portfolio, is the 
process skills, the interpersonal skills and personal qualities must be 
developed as an integral part of the teaching and learning process. These 
include collaboration, persistence and reliability. Understanding of the 
underlying principles in Part A is assessed by questions provided by the 
Awarding Body 
 The approach to Problem Solving required by the specifications is illustrated 
in the diagram below: 
 Identify Problem 
 Understand Problem 
 Generate ideas for tackling Problem 
 Choose best method to use 
 Plan how to tackle Problem 
 Use the plan 
 Check outcomes 
 Reflect on Problem Solving approach

mira perlu bantuan  kakak2..abg2. ..teman2 smua...

ceritanya nih..mira ada matlab project...
programnya setengah udah beres..tinggal dikit lagi(mungkin)
klo ad yg bisa...dengan sangat mira mohon...bantuin mira utk komplitin 
programnya.. .
mira udah coba..tp gak bisa2...hiks. ..

gini ni program yg hrs mira buat...
 Matlab movie:
ada satu jet fighter yg harus terbang di bwh jembatan...
(yg ini programnya udha siap)
trus kan jet nya hrs lewatin jembatan..
so..di figure nya ntar..jet nya gak muncul lg..alias jetnya udah di belakang 
jembatan.... (gitu lah kira2)..trus jembatan doank yg muncul...
ini yg jadi masalah..gmn caranya supaya jet nya gak muncul lg di figure...?? ??
 harus pke matlab..gak boleh pke program yg laen

 
ntar...klo ada yg bisa bantu..bakalan mira kirim program yg udh mira buat..plus 
figure jet dan jembatannya. .
