Hi Stuart connecting to \\192.168.1.125\stuart will show you your home folder, you want to connect to \\192.168.1.125 (just type the address in the address bar at the top of an Explorer window), that should show all the shares listed, as long as you authenticate with the same username and password on your mac.
You could try resetting the SMC on the MacBook, turn it off, take the battery out, disconnect the power, hold the power button for 10 secs, reassemble and switch back on.
