I's also possible that the Advent comes with Windows wifi turned off. Look
for a wifi symbol on the keyboard - it's usually something like a little
blue electricity tower. You can usually turn wifi on and off by holding down
the Alt or Fn key (whichever one is the same colour as the symbol) and
pressing the little tower button.
