Loaded it the same day it was released as I invariably do with all  
updates.

It installed fine on my Intel iMac as has every update since 10.0  
(though not on the same machine...). I have always used software  
update to install updates every time and it's just been download,  
restart, continue for me. In my recollection, the only installation  
issue that ever seemed seriously global was the one where the  
installer erased attached and mounted external drives. Serious ouch!

Mine's running just fine, blah blah. No experience of the Register's  
list of problems.
