The results from your maintenance script describe the result of verify/ repair permissions and are quite normal. The problem lies somewhere between the Internet Service Provider, BT and your connection to the computer. Or cable service provider.
If you have a modem/router, can you access the router from Safari? eg I have a Thompson Speedtouch 500 series and can type 10.0.0.138 into the address bar of Safari to administer the router. Here I get information such as Line Status Enabled, Bandwidth Up/Down 448/7616 etc. I suspect your Bandwidth figures will be lower. Come back with some details, but also check your internal telephone wiring for obvious faults before getting on the phone to the ISP. Does you landline sound bad? Or if you are on cable is the TV playing up too?
