Sorry to hear of the problem you had. I think I'd have been tempted to phone them, given the slow email response you had. All the time I dealt with them, email communications was good but not fast. I did always eventually get a reply.
Just to update my original notes, I'm now back in the UK and the battery's been charged several times since I posted to the group. It has now reached 6600mAh (from 6360mAh) - so 1000mAh better than any Apple battery I've had, and is still working well.

This is a cautionary tale.   Encouraged by Graham's praise for Fastmac batteries on this forum,

"My original Apple battery was recalled. The replacement started failing after 80 cycles. At 130 cycles, the longest my laptop would stay running on a (so-called) full charge was 20 mins. Apple would not replace my replacement battery. All the reviews of Apple batteries are terrible, so I looked elsewhere for a solution. I visitedhttp://fastmac.com/laptop.php and ordered a TruePower battery back in January. They're so popular that I've had to wait 4 months for stocks (for my laptop) to be replenished. I'm in the US at the moment and FastMac recently shipped the replacement battery here instead of to the UK.

The new TruePower
battery is superb. Despite being in the postal system for a week, it arrived fully charged. After just a few cycles, its improved and is now charged to 6360mAh. My old Apple battery only ever reached 5600mAh. My battery life seems to be around 3-4 hours at the moment. It looks like they produce TruePower batteries for your model and I'd highly recommend them."

I ordered a TruePower online last week.  I didn't consider size, just assumed they were all the same.  In the middle of the night, I realised there were probably several different sized G4s, came downstairs and sent an email to Fastmac saying I wanted a 14" battery, not 17" as ordered 8 hours before.   No  answer to email.  5 days later a letter from EMS postal services  : $25.71 payable on packet waiting to be delivered.  Assumed (correctly) it was battery. Fingers crossed it was right size. Arrived this morning.   Wrong size : 17".   Total cost : $109.77 + $25.71  = £82.70.   Would anybody like to buy this from me?  (all reasonable offers considered).   Alternatively, I will buy a new 17" laptop to go with battery : very tempted!
