you'll have to give more details I'm afraid: how fast is the 
machine, what errors, by 'pretty bad' do you mean it loses all 
visibility or is blurred (etc). Does VLC report an error but 
play ok? Eg I have videos that my G5 stuttered on but my laptop 
played without a hitch, and that could be cause (and what 
machines do you want to play it on?)

<mild admin request> please avoid threadwhacking (replying to a 
message and changing the thread. It doesn't help *you* as many 
people won't even realise you've started a new topic and might 
not bother to read what they think is a message on that topic 
(many emailers will group this with the previous thread).

better to start with a completely new message.
