hi Gilly Perhaps your camera was set to take low quality shots. Is that the original that was imported into iPhoto?
How did you get the image out of iPhoto? If you exported, it may have resized the image down to 640x480. If you downloaded it from google picasa web galleries, there may be a higher quality version online.
