Thanks Tony - just been looking at the forum posts. Packrat is only an option for Pro accounts and above. My free account has 14gig so that's more than enough!

Notwithstanding the loss of files, it seems the ransom payment method is hard enough in itself - anyone have any idea how to make a bitcoin payment? That's rhetorical by the way - don't want to be accused of irrelevant posts ;-)

Leaving shared folders while I'm not actively needing the files seems to be the best precaution for now.

How long before this sort of virus is written for Mac do you think?

Best wishes

Pat

I think that multiple restore only applies to deleted files/folders.
Where you have multiple versions of a file you have to restore the
required ones individually and I cannot see how you can do this for
multiple folders.
.
Also for basic Dropbox accounts, prior versions are only held for 30
days unless you have subscribed for Packrat?

There are quite a few concerns expressed on the Dropbox forum -
https://forums.dropbox.com - on Cryptolocker worth checking out. But I
have found that you can ask Dropbox support to rollback your account to
a specific prior date and they are especially interested to know if
you’ve been affected by the virus. Seems rather helpful to me.

Sorry meant you can select multiple files and folders to restore, not
multiple versions of that file/folder.
