I have some custom-made earplugs for 100% watertight seal when swimming (I have 
grommets in my eardrums which let water into my brain). They're almost 100% 
noiseproof too. The only problem is that when they're in, all I can hear is the 
tinnitus!

The company that makes them Ultimate Ears in Orpington, Kent, also make a model 
for shooting with which promises greater noise reduction.
