If you have a Fibre to the Cabinet connection (FTTC) then the performance
delivered to your router can be variable depending on the distance from
you to the cabinet and the interaction with other users on the cable to
your house. It can slow down

Use an ethernet connection to connect your computer to the router, if
possible connect as many computers directly to the router using ethernet
cables.

If you own your house and expect to always have the number of computer
users in your house lay ethernet cables to all the rooms likely to be used
by computer users in the house. Second best plan is to add another WiFI
transmitter set to provide an addition WiFI service on a different channel
or even on a different frequency.
