Hi Tilly I listened to Sam on this one a couple of years back (wow, time flies) and stuck an SSD in my Early 2011 MBPro. I followed an iFixIt video having bought the appropriate small screws, but it really was as simple as Sam made out.
Failing that, any laptop repair shop would doubtless do it for you while you wait if you'd rather someone who's done it before.
